Stonebond Properties, established over 40 years ago, have secured an enviable reputation as the regions premier house builder. Our financially secure business is owned and privately funded by the Cherry Family who founded Countryside Properties. Stonebond has a history of obtaining planning permission for development where others have failed and key to this success is a highly skilled Management Team with over 100 years combined experience in delivering residential projects across the South East of England.

Our attention to detail is reflected in our commitment to customer service during and after our houses are built. Richard recently ended a successful 35-year career with Countryside Properties, a company his father set up in 1958 prior to founding Stonebond Properties in 1975. He had served on the main board since 1986 and most recently was Chief Executive of the Partnerships Division, responsible or the group’s Regeneration Development programme. His focus is now on the continued growth of Stonebond Properties, with ambitious plans for expansion over the coming years.


Graham retired from Countryside Properties plc in September 2019 having had a long and distinguished career for over 40 years. He held the position of Group Chief Executive from 1996 to 2013 before taking on the roles of Chief Executive of Housebuilding and then Partnerships.


Andrew joined Stonebond as CFO in June 2019 to support the strategic direction and growth of the business. He has over 14 years’ worth of relevant financial and commercial experience in leading financial operations, implementing business strategy and managing financial performance. Andrew has previously held a number of senior finance roles including Group Financial Controller and Divisional Finance Director at Countryside Properties plc and Head of Finance for St James part of the Berkeley Group plc. He is a chartered accountant by profession having trained at EY.



Chris joined Stonebond in 2006 having served with Countryside Properties for over twenty years learning his trade from one of the industry’s best – Alan Cherry – the founder. He discovered early on that reputations are forged through hard work, an eye for detail and a commitment to quality. Regardless of the credit crunch in 2008 Chris has maintained those critical points as Stonebond has gone from strength to strength delivering unique and high quality solutions whilst many of our competitors have fallen by the wayside.


David joined the Stonebond team in 2008 and has played an instrumental part in guiding the ongoing growth of the Company. He has over 15 years’ experience in the industry and, as Land and Planning Director, David is tasked with leading and overseeing the ongoing management of Stonebond’s development pipeline, with a focus on promoting key stakeholder relationships that enable development schemes to be brought to fruition. Leading the Land Team, he reports to the main shareholders and to his fellow Board of Directors.


Will joined Stonebond as a Senior Land Manager in May 2018 having previously worked for Bellway and seeks to identify and deliver strategic and immediate land opportunities for the business. Will holds a BSc in Planning & Development.


Will joined Stonebond in June 2019, having previously worked for Weston Homes Plc for four years as a Land Manager. Prior to this, Will worked for Savills Plc as part of the Development and Residential Agency Department and seeks to identify and acquire immediate and strategic residential development opportunities for the business.


Jack joined in 2017 as Land Manager following four years in the Development & Planning Team at Strutt & Parker. Working closely with landowners and agents he identifies and acquires both strategic and immediate opportunities for development.


Edd studied architecture at the University of Sheffield graduating in June 2017 and joined Stonebond Properties in September of the same year as a Graduate Trainee. Having gained experience undertaking a department rotation to understand the operation of the business Edd has settled into a role within the Land Team. Edd will not only contribute to land acquisition targets, but will be involved with branding, sales and the growth of the family business.


Sean joined Stonebond in November 2019, having previously worked for Barratt David Wilson Homes for 6 years. Sean became an elected Member of the RTPI in 2010 and has over 15 years’ experience of working with and for national housebuilders across the East of England. He joins the land and planning team to provide key planning advice and deliver planning consent for Stonebond.


Alana joined Stondbond in July 2020 as an Assistant Land Buyer. Alana has previously worked for Barratt Developments, where she discovered an interest in Land after undertaking a departmental rotation. Prior to this, Alana studied Psychology at the University of Leeds, and completed a marketing placement at Dandara. Alana has joined to provide additional support the Land & Planning team in acquiring new developments and progressing land opportunities. 


Andrew joined Stonebond as Technical Manager in 2018 after roles as Technical Director at Countryside Properties, Taylor Wimpey and Ecoworld London. Andrew has 30 years’ experience and manages the planning and detailed design information from implementation to site completion and supports the Land team looking at new sites. Following Andrew’s hardwork and dedication he was promoted to Technical Director in November 2019.


Stella was in architectural practice before joining a national housing developer in her 20 year career in the industry. Her experience ranges from inception through to delivery and managing small bespoke houses to large scale schemes, including the Chobham Manor site on the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. She has a passion for design and supports the Land team on new sites as well as co-ordinating projects through to completion.


Nathan joined Stonebond in December 2018 having previously worked with two national housing developers coordinating projects from planning through to aftercare on undertakings involving 30-200+ units. He is now part of Stonebond’s Technical Team managing external consultants and all technical information from grant of planning permission to completion of the project.


Paul joined Stonebond in February 2020 having previously worked with housing developer Hopkins Homes for 10 years following roles as a Senior Architectural Technician and later as a Technical Coordinator. Paul started his career in architectural practice producing production drawings for a variety of prestigious commercial office buildings in the City of London and later specialising predominantly in new housing schemes for a number …


Dan joined Stonebond in July 2020 following roles as a Store Planner & CAD Technician and later as an Architectural Technologist. With a degree in Architecture, Dan started his career in practice producing interior layout drawings for high street retailers, later moving onto residential design, new builds and extensions. He supports the Technical team managing the standard details and specifications, ensuring updates are carried out to drawings and issued on the relevant projects.


Paul joined Stonebond in December 2017 having previously worked for 12 Years with two national housing developers on all commercial aspects, working on multiple turn-key developments. Paul is responsible for managing the commercial team and all the contractual and commercial aspects of Stonebond’s sites with our sub-contractors.


Reece joined Stonebond Properties in February 2020 as a Senior Estimator having previously worked for Weston Homes Plc for 4 years. Reece is responsible for managing the land feasibility appraisals process from inception to handover to the Commercial team. Outside of work, he is currently studying for his degree in Construction Management via distance learning.


James joined Stonebond in April 2018 having previously worked for Tern Developments for over 6 years. James works in the Commercial Team under Paul Kelly delivering development sites across the region. James is responsible for managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of the construction projects he oversees.


Will joined Stonebond in October 2019. Having worked for a contractor for 3 years previously, he has now come on board to assist the commercial department in the procurement and delivery of projects. Will looks forward to growing with the business as he works towards his Quantity Surveying degree.


Ryan joined Stonebond Properties in February 2019 and is responsible for overseeing the procurement and financial aspects of the projects he works on. Ryan will be the first member of the Stonebond team to be placed on a sponsored degree program, studying BSc Quantity Surveying on a day release basis.


Owen joined Stonebond in June 2019 having previously worked for Barratt Homes for 4 years. He has over 20 years’ experience in procurement having also worked for two regional house developers and as an external procurement consultant. Owen is responsible for managing the material supply chain from tendering to negotiating through to scheduling and ordering, ensuring that materials are competitively sourced without compromising quality and service.


Marni joined Stonebond Properties in August 2019 as the company receptionist. After being recognised for her enthusiasm and eagerness to learn she joined the commercial team as a commercial assistant where she is responsible for helping in the day to day activities of the team, including raising order and producing payment certificates.


Andrew worked with Stonebond on a consultancy basis from 2007 and joined the company full time in 2017 as Construction Director. He has extensive experience in construction and project management and has overall responsibility for the construction team, ensuring the construction process is executed efficiently, safely and professionally.


William joined Stonebond in April 2020 from Countryside where he worked for 5 and half years, with over 20 years’ experience within the construction industry. William brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in managing the construction team, and overseeing activities on the sites to ensure programmes, cost, quality and health and safety standards are met.


Tony joined Stonebond in January 2020 with over 30 years construction experience. Originally being trained as a bricklayer he progressed with Taylor Wimpey and London Square to become a Project Manager; overseeing a range of both high and low rise developments of up to 500 units. Joining Stonebond has allowed him to assist in their growth aspirations by improving their buildability with a focus on quality, time management and health and safety.  


Joe joined us in January 2020. He had previously been with Countryside Properties since 2007 as a general labourer, after continuous hard work he worked his way up through the ranks up to being promoted to Site Manager. He has managed projects from 12 – 200 units and looks forward to working with Stonebond and growing with the business. Joe believes if you put your mind to something anything can be achieved.


Peter joined the company in December 2019. Before that he worked for Chelsteen Construction for 21 years, as a site manager. 


Steve has worked in the building industry for over 10 years running a small building and maintenance company.  Steve is excited for the opportunity he has have been offered and looks forward to his future at Stonebond.


Annette joined Stonebond in February 2020 having worked in the industry for 20 years. Her career started with five years at Countryside Properties before joining Crest Nicholson where she held the role of Sales and Marketing Director for the last 12 years. Annette is accomplished in devising and delivering robust sales and marketing strategies, building and motivating a loyal team and delivering high levels of customer service.


Emily joined Stonebond in May 2020 as Marketing Manager having previously worked for Crest Nicholson for three years, and prior to that, Countryside Properties for five. She is responsible for implementing and delivering key marketing strategies for the company and each development, ensuring site presentation standards and managing choices and upgrades for our purchasers.


Kirsten joined Stonebond in November 2018 having always had a keen interest in property, as both her parents work in the industry. She is responsible for assisting the Sales & Marketing Director with all the department’s areas of focus such as marketing strategies and sales progression.


Veronica joined us in August 2019 from Savills to take up the position of Sales Adviser with us. She works out on site in our Sales Office assisting our customers on their journey to buying a new home.


Mamunur joined Stonebond in November 2019 as Senior Financial Controller. Mamunur started his accountancy career in practice where he obtained his ACA qualification having worked for a Top 6 and a mid-sized firm. He has since held a number of technical and commercial roles in commerce and industry including Divisional Financial Controller at Countryside Properties Plc. As Senior Financial Controller, Mamunur will be responsible for all aspects of Finance including the day to day running of the Finance team.


Adam joined Stonebond in May 2020 as Financial Controller. Adam is responsible for financial reporting, budgeting and managing the finance team. Adam started his career in audit, working at KPMG and a mid-tier practice, where he became ACA qualified. Prior to joining Stonebond Adam worked at a large retailer for 3 years.


Megan joined Stonebond in January 2020 as Assistant Management Accountant. She has a keen interest in housebuilding having worked at Countryside Properties Plc, initially in Accounts Payable and then in the Housebuilding East finance team. Her duties include looking after all aspects of banking, month end close and assisting the wider finance team. Megan is part ACCA qualified with ambitions to be a fully qualified accountant.


Lisa worked in the accounts department at Countryside Properties for 15 years from 1983 and then returned, following a break to raise a family, to manage the subcontractor ledger. Lisa is now working within the Accounts Department at Stonebond Properties processing Purchase Ledger and Subcontractor payments.


Sarah joined Stonebond in October 2017 having previously worked at Countryside Properties for over 10 years. She looks after the senior team and the day to day running of the office.


Dani joined Stonebond in March 2020 having previously worked in Customer Care at Countryside. She is responsible for helping the team meet their quality targets and ensuring that all customers receive a five-star service. Dani has a Construction Management degree and is SMSTS qualified.


Andrew joined Stonebond in September 2018. He originally trained as a painter before moving into customer care with a multi-national company. He will be looking after all Stonebond’s maintenance needs and liaising with purchasers regarding any remedial works required. He is SMSTS qualified and First aid accredited.



Peter joined Stonebond in October 2020, bringing 16 years of experience from a successful career at Countryside Properties. He is a Chartered Surveyor and Town Planner by background and recently held the position of Development & Land and Planning Director.

Peter will be responsible for establishing and growing regional operations in St Albans and will be a valuable addition to the Senior Management Team at Stonebond.


Amelia joined Stonebond in April 2020, with her degree in Architecture she has previously worked at Countryside Properties for almost five years within the Land and Planning team based in Hertfordshire. During this time Amelia was awarded an MSc in Real Estate and qualified as Member of the RICS in 2019.

Amelia is the first employee within Stonebond’s new St Albans Region. She is responsible for establishing our new office, sourcing land opportunities into West Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire, continuing to expand the family business.


Alana joined Stonebond in July 2020 following the completion of her degree from Exeter University, where she was awarded First Class Honours in Business and Management.

As the second member of the St Albans region, Alana will be assisting the land team in acquiring opportunities and contributing to the expansion of the new office. She is currently studying for an MSC in Real Estate to further her knowledge and commercial acumen within the property industry.
