ABOUT STONEBOND PROPERTIES

Stonebond Properties, established over 40 years ago, have secured an enviable reputation as the regions premier house builder. Our approach to development focuses on the creation of quality properties with an individual sense of place. In the pursuit of this goal we utilise sustainable materials and employ expert local tradespeople who are managed by our dedicated in-house team that lead projects from inception to completion. This ensures that we deliver a quality finished product.

Our financially secure business is owned and privately funded by the Cherry Family who founded Countryside Properties. Stonebond has a history of obtaining planning permission for development where others have failed and key to this success is a highly skilled Management Team with over 100 years combined experience in delivering residential projects across the South East of England.

Our attention to detail is reflected in our commitment to customer service during and after our houses are built. Our aim at Stonebond is for the purchase of a new home to be as straightforward as possible – and our knowledgeable team are readily accessible to ensure the whole process is a pleasure from start to finish

MEET THE TEAM AT STONEBOND

RICHARD CHERRY

Richard recently ended a successful 35-year career with Countryside Properties, a company his father set up in 1958 prior to founding Stonebond Properties in 1975. He had served on the main board since 1986 and most recently was Chief Executive of the Partnerships Division, responsible or the group’s Regeneration Development programme. His focus is now on the continued growth of Stonebond Properties, with ambitious plans for expansion over the coming years.

CHRIS WEEDON

Chris joined Stonebond in 2006 having served with Countryside Properties for over twenty years learning his trade from one of the industry’s best – Alan Cherry – the founder. He discovered early on that reputations are forged through hard work, an eye for detail and a commitment to quality. Regardless of the credit crunch in 2008 Chris has maintained those critical points as Stonebond has gone from strength to strength delivering unique and high quality solutions whilst many of our competitors have fallen by the wayside.

DAVID KWAN

David joined the Stonebond team in 2008 and has played an instrumental part in guiding the ongoing growth of the Company. He has over 15 years’ experience in the industry and, as Land and Planning Director, David is tasked with leading and overseeing the ongoing management of Stonebond’s development pipeline, with a focus on promoting key stakeholder relationships that enable development schemes to be brought to fruition. Leading the Land Team, he reports to the main shareholders and to his fellow Board of Directors.

WILL OWERS

Will joined Stonebond as a Senior Land Manager in May 2018 at an exciting time having previously worked for Bellway and seeks to identify and deliver strategic and immediate land opportunities for the business. Will holds a BSc in Planning & Development.

WILL ALMOND

Will joined Stonebond in June 2019, having previously worked for Weston Homes Plc for four years as a Land Manager. Prior to this, Will worked for Savills Plc as part of the Development and Residential Agency Department and seeks to identify and acquire immediate and strategic residential development opportunities for the business.

JACK LILLIOTT

Jack joined in 2017 as Land Manager following four years in the Development & Planning Team at Strutt & Parker. Working closely with landowners and agents he identifies and acquires both strategic and immediate opportunities for development.

EDD CHERRY

Edd studied architecture at the University of Sheffield graduating in June 2017 and joined Stonebond Properties in September of the same year as a Graduate Trainee. Having gained experience undertaking a department rotation to understand the operation of the business Edd has settled into a role within the Land Team. Edd will not only contribute to land acquisition targets, but will be involved with branding, sales and the growth of the family business.

PAUL KELLY

Paul joined Stonebond in December 2017 having previously worked for 12 Years with two national housing developers on all commercial aspects, working on multiple turn-key developments. Paul is responsible for managing the commercial team and all the contractual and commercial aspects of Stonebond’s sites with our sub-contractors.

JAMES MARSAY

James joined Stonebond in April 2018 having previously worked for Tern Developments for over 6 years. James works in the Commercial Team under Paul Kelly delivering development sites across the region. James is responsible for managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of the construction projects he oversees.

OWEN WHITE

Owen joined Stonebond in June 2019 having previously worked for Barratt Homes for 4 years. He has over 20 years’ experience in procurement having also worked for two regional house developers and as an external procurement consultant. Owen is responsible for managing the material supply chain from tendering to negotiating through to scheduling and ordering, ensuring that materials are competitively sourced without compromising quality and service.

RYAN LETCH

Ryan joined Stonebond in February 2019. His role is based around assisting the commercial team throughout the procurement process. Ryan will be the first member of the Stonebond team to be placed on a sponsored degree program, studying BSc Quantity Surveying on a day release basis.

ANDREW MOORE

Andrew worked with Stonebond on a consultancy basis from 2007 and joined the company full time in 2017 as Construction Director. He has extensive experience in construction and project management and has overall responsibility for the construction team, ensuring the construction process is executed efficiently, safely and professionally.

LEE HAMMOND

Lee joined us in November 2017 with over 20 years’ experience in site management, most recently with Bloor Homes where he spent 7 and a half years, working on projects ranging from 50 to 250 units.

STEPHEN COCKETT

Stephen joined us in January 2019 working on our site in Takeley. He brings with him over 20 years’ experience as a site manager, most recently with Elmore Homes.

SUZANNE HARRISS

Suzanne joined us in March 2019 from Barratt Homes and has over 20 years’ experience in the industry, including with Countryside at the start of her career. She now heads up our Sales and Marketing team overseeing the sales from reservation to completion a well as developing our marketing strategies and managing our agent relationships.

LOUISE MOORE

Louise is qualified in interior design and therefore her input in selecting various finishes such as flooring, kitchens, bathrooms etc for our properties is invaluable. Louise also liaises with our purchasers throughout, from reservation to completion, to ensure a smooth sales process.

KIRSTEN MOORE

Kirsten joined Stonebond in November 2018 having always had a keen interest in property, as both her parents work in the industry. She is responsible for assisting the Sales & Marketing Manager with all the department’s areas of focus such as marketing strategies and sales progression.

ANDREW CORNELIUS

Andrew joined Stonebond as CFO in June 2019 to support the strategic direction and growth of the business. He has over 14 years’ worth of relevant financial and commercial experience in leading financial operations, implementing business strategy and managing financial performance. Andrew has previously held a number of senior finance roles including Group Financial Controller and Divisional Finance Director at Countryside Properties plc and Head of Finance for St James part of the Berkeley Group plc. He is a chartered accountant by profession having trained at EY.

LAURA COOK

Laura joined Stonebond in February 2019. She has worked in Accountancy for 12 years and is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA). Laura has been working in the construction industry for over 15 years and also has a background in Banking, Insurance, Mortgages and Pensions.

LISA TARLING

Lisa worked in the accounts department at Countryside Properties for 15 years from 1983 and then returned, following a break to raise a family, to manage the subcontractor ledger. Lisa is now working within the Accounts Department at Stonebond Properties processing Purchase Ledger and Subcontractor payments.

WENDY COLGRAVE

Wendy qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1989, joining Countryside Properties in 1991 and spending the next 25 years there, latterly as Chief Financial Officer. Having left Countryside in 2016 Wendy joined Stonebond and is responsible for assisting on all aspects of Treasury and Finance.

SARAH JOHNSTONE

Sarah joined Stonebond in October 2017 having previously worked at Countryside Properties for over 10 years. She looks after the senior team and the day to day running of the office.

ANDREW HARRINGTON

Andrew joined Stonebond as Technical Manager in 2018 after roles as Technical Director at Countryside Properties, Taylor Wimpey and Ecoworld London. Andrew has 30 years’ experience and manages the planning and detailed design information from implementation to site completion and supports the Land team looking at new sites.

STELLA YIP

Stella was in architectural practice before joining a national housing developer in her 20 year career in the industry. Her experience ranges from inception through to delivery and managing small bespoke houses to large scale schemes, including the Chobham Manor site on the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. She has a passion for design and supports the Land team on new sites as well as co-ordinating projects through to completion.

NATHAN BODJAWAH

Nathan joined Stonebond in December 2018 having previously worked with two national housing developers coordinating projects from planning through to aftercare on undertakings involving 30-200+ units. He is now part of Stonebond’s Technical Team managing external consultants and all technical information from grant of planning permission to completion of the project.

ANDREW MARSAY

Andrew joined Stonebond in September 2018. He originally trained as a painter before moving into customer care with a multi-national company. He will be looking after all Stonebond’s maintenance needs and liaising with purchasers regarding any remedial works required. He is SMSTS qualified and First aid accredited.
